My Homesteading Journey

My Homestead Journey

In early 2021 late 2020, so I desided i was ready to get started on becoming a little more self reliant.  Doing a lot of research has been a big part of getting started, researching on the animals that would be a good fit for a small homested.  I knew I wanted a dairy type animal.
Such as a cow, or a goat for dairy purpuses, milk, butter, and even ice cream.
when researching what breed of cow or goat would be the best fit for the homested. I considered such thing as, cost of animal to buy, size of the animal, how much milk and cream will the animal produce per milking.  Also how much land is needed to keep and house the animal. Along with how much, and the types of foods the animal can, can not eat, how much water is needed pre day, along with the types of vitimins and minirals the animal will need to have regularly.
I wanted the animal to be small, docile, quit, and easy to care for in general, those requirements for a homested animal, it does reduce the number of dairy breeds to choose form.
